Thursday evening was a wonderful celebration of the fantastic 2025 season at The Patterson Club. COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL NEXT SEASON!

We are looking forward to celebrate our racers, and their great season NEXT WEEK!
Thursday, March 20 from 6.30-9.00pm at The Patterson Club
Please RSVP to the evite sent to your inbox on Friday and send Venmo ASAP. Contact Megan Zwick, meganzwick@gmail.com or 646.391.4865 with questions.

The warm weather was great for spectators, but not ideal for ski racing! In spite of the challenging conditions, the Wreckers finished the night with some hardware.
Congratulations to Girls for their 3rd place finish and the Boys for coming in 4th!

PRACTICE this week will take place on TUESDAY, 2/25.
REGULAR SEASON RESULTS ARE IN! CONGRATULATIONS to the Boys for finishing in 1st place for Class L and to the Girls for securing 3rd place! Links: Boys and Girls
THE STATE OPEN RACE IS SET FOR WEDNESDAY 2/26 at 4.00pm. Staples Varsity Teams will be competing alongside the following schools to become State Champions. Look out for a sign up to donate snacks for the race and come to Southington to cheer for our Wreckers!

Class L Girls – Ridgefield, Fairfield, Staples, Hopkins, Glastonbury
Class S Boys – Weston, Wilton, Cheshire
Class S Girls – Hand, Wilton, Weston, Amity

Due to the storm on Thursday and the forecast for the upcoming week, CISL has moved the Class S race to Monday 2/10 which means we will not have access to the race hill.
Given the multiple weather systems at play from Tuesday-Thursday, we will be unable to plan practice at the hill this week.
Our next on snow practice will be when we come back from break, Tuesday, February 25th.
It is hard to believe that this week is the last race of the regular season. That also means that it is time to CELEBRATE OUR SENIORS! On Wednesday, 2/5, we will have a celebration of our seniors with snacks, cake and fun. It was the busiest week so far in the 2025 season!
Monday was the Slalom Shootouts, with seven Staples racers competing. BIG CONGRATS to freshman Hannah El-Gamal for finishing 8th and qualifying for TEAM CT. She will compete in the Eastern Championships March 6-9 in New Hampshire. Ben Zwick had the best outcome for the boys, finishing 12th, so in an alternate position for TEAM CT. Below are some photos:

Pasta dinners for both teams were held on Tuesday night. Thank you to the Frankel and Berner families for hosting!

Finally, Race #4 was held on Wednesday night as a crossover event, racing against both Class L (Greenwich, Fairfield, Prep, Ridgefield and Hopkins) and Class S Schools (Amity, New Canaan, Brunswick/Greenwich Academy, Guilford, St. Luke’s, Brookfield, Lakeview and Woodstock). The Girls Teams finished strong with Varsity in 3rd and JV in second. Boys Varsity were met with some tough runs, but showed some grit , finishing 5th while JV continued their consistent performance with a 2nd place finish.

In last week’s Race #3, the Boys Varsity and JV skied their way into 1st and 2nd place and the Girls Varsity and JV finished 4th and 2nd. We are now already more than halfway through the regular season!
