Our very own Courtney Ruggiero is the 2018 teacher of the year! As many of you may know, Courtney is not only our very talented boys ski team coach, she is also an eighth grade social studies teacher at Bedford Middle School.
P.S. Think snow! Ski season will be here soon!
The CISL just recently posted the following information regarding a change in helmet rules that will go into effect next season. With this in mind, we wanted to alert everyone who may be purchasing a new helmet this season. If you have any questions, please refer to the link at the bottom of the League’s announcement.
From the CISL website:
CISL Helmet rule
We are aware of the changes in helmet regulations that USSA has implemented. Currently our rules read as follows, “Helmets, designed and approved for ski racing, must be worn by all racers at all times while skiing in any and all CISL GS races. Helmets or approved slalom specific face protection MUST be worn in all SL races”.
For the 2016-2017 season the CISL encourages all racers to wear CE Certified Helmets (hard covering over the ears). For the 2017-2018 season all racers will be required to wear helmets that cover their head and ears and must have the CE sticker to race.
